CREATING A SCENE
As like every workspace 3ds max starts with a new scene deployed in default.starts a new 3d space to work and four separate boxes carrying four viewports front, top, left and perspective.these are the default viewports we gonna work,we can also change them according to our comfort, which we will see in later parts.
VIEWPORTS:
The viewports gives four views in normal they r front, top, left and perspective .normally these view ports help in getting a clear view of things we do especially at the time of rigging and animation.
what we see in this picture is the four viewports expressed in wireframes.wireframes r the representives of our real work without shading. There is an another view which is smooth+highlights ,where all the shading we gave is shown. We can shift between wireframe and smooth using the keyboard shortcut F3
CHANGING VIEWPORT SETTINGS
* Right click on the plus symbol in the left top corner of either four view ports and select configure

* In there select layout setting, there we can see many layout styles.every style has its own purpose, which we see later in our tutorial

Another thing we have to note in viewport is the edge faces.the edge faces are the combination of both wireframe and smooth+highlights.keyboard short cut is F4.
You can activate GRIDS by pressing "G" in keyboard.both to on and off
